How to measure
Choosing the right chimney cap size is essential for a proper fit and lasting protection. When measuring:
Length and Width: Measure the outside dimensions of your chimney.
Height: Measure the height of your flue pipe. If you have multiple flue pipes, measure the tallest one.
A properly sized chimney cap prevents water damage, keeps out animals, and ensures optimal draft performance.
Height: If your chimney has flue pipes, the height of the chimney cap should be at least about 6"-12" higher than your tallest flue pipe.
If your chimney top is flat, the height can be designed as you prefer. We would recommend about 12" height to balance both function and aesthetics.
Length & Width: The length and width of the chimney cap should match or exceed the dimensions of your chimney.
Overall Length & Width (including drip edge): The drip edge extends slightly beyond the chimney to help divert rainwater.

Installation Methods
Side-Mounted
The chimney cap covers the top of the chimney and is fastened through the side flanges. Screws are inserted horizontally into the sides of the chimney for a secure fit.
Top-Mounted
The chimney cap is secured by attaching the top flange directly to the chimney. Screws are driven down into the chimney structure to hold the cap firmly in place.
